Yapoos (ヤプーズ) is a Japanese new wave and rock band formed in Tokyo in 1983, built around the singular presence of vocalist Jun Togawa alongside musical collaborator Halmens. Known for their provocative, unsettling lyrics and Togawa's extraordinary vocal range — oscillating between saccharine pop, operatic intensity, and full-throated screaming — the band has long been connected to Japan's ero-guro subculture and avant-garde underground. Albums appeared from 1987 through the 1990s, with later releases in 2003 and 2019.
